If you’re learning to drive one of the first things you need to do is find provisional car insurance to insure the car you’re driving. This insurance will then usually carry over once you have passed your test until you come to renew it, usually at the end of the year. You should consider it therefore a fairly long term relationship as many companies will want to keep your custom once you have established that you are a safe driver. It becomes much easier to switch insurance companies and get the best deals once you have built up a “no claims” bonus which accrues with every year you drive without claiming.
